San Diego is such a great city for biotech innovation. So we knew there’d be stiff competition to even get in the running for the first-ever Xconomy 2019 Awards San Diego.
In the end, not one, not two, but five Little Dog Communications clients have been named finalists for the Xconomy awards. Congratulations to PvP Biologics, Molecular Assemblies and Organovo, finalists in the “Innovation at the Intersection” category (their profiles have been published here), and ViaCyte and Banyan Biomarkers, finalists in the “Big Idea” category (read their profile article here)!
These companies are making progress in how we diagnose disease, treat serious medical conditions, and even store information. From a business standpoint, San Diego’s economy and the Torrey Pines Mesa are fueled by this kind of research.
As Xconomy editor Sarah de Crescenzo put it: “San Diego is one of the top U.S. cities for innovation in life sciences and healthtech. Researchers and entrepreneurs here are leaders in developing the next generation of medicines and medical devices. In doing so, they are revealing new insights from our genomes, coming up with new data analytics tools, and applying digital advances to improve health.”
These finalists were chosen by Xconomy editors across the United States and a panel of local experts. We’ll find out the winners at the Xconomy gala at the end of May. Whoever wins, we know that 2019 is a strong year for the biotech community and our breakthrough, innovative clients.
